Origami light design

Origami light design

I remember I’ve written about a ‘book lamp’ before.  This is a fold-up book, when you open it it turns into a desk lamp (well it actually ‘pops’ out)… really cool.  The above picture shows a close resemblance to that idea, this time it took it further… ultimately. It’s no pop-up… it’s an Origami Lamp!  Really! Now this shouts original loud and clear.  You can be sure you’d be the only soul on the block … hey you may be the only one in the city… that is if this ever comes out commercially.Unlike the original Origami (which means ‘Oru’ meaning folding and ‘Kami’ meaning paper), the above lamp is made of a thin sheet of steel that was pre-scored so that all you have to do is fold along the dotted lines.  Great concept from Yanko Designs. This is sooo perfect for the bachelors.  Enough to impress the ladies and yet would solicit the admiration of fellow nerds too.  I’m just not too sure if the dotted lines weaken the fold…  nonetheless, it’s great!
