Pininfarina and French battery maker Bollore’ have revealed a collective concept they call the B0. The Pininfarina B0 is an all-electric city car with a unique approach to charging and storing electricity. Instead of a standard battery, the B0 features a hybrid system that includes a bank of supercapacitors. These don’t store as much energy as a battery, but they do charge much quicker. That allows the B0 to generate more serviceable electricity while it drives- from regenerative breaking and from the included solar panels on the roof and grille. In a single charge, the Pininfarina B0 has a range of about 153 miles and a top speed of 80mph. We’ll let you decide what you think about the design- but the technology itself is nothing less than lustworthy.
