Gator Hydroplane for a thrilling dash through water

gator hydroplane concept_03

Current hydroplanes come with very little haul which makes them very fast and at the same time very unstable, especially in windy conditions during a race. Derived from nature, a gator head popping out of water, the Gator Hydroplane by Johnson Drew is a concept boat that focuses on advanced safety measures during hydroplane racing. The Gator Hydroplane uses front steering fins for better control and maneuverability through the water, while preventing the chance of becoming airborne. Featuring unique steering fins, the concept boat remains stable in the water. The Gator Hydroplane is approximately 30 feet long and 15 feet wide and generates power from small twin jet engines. In case of a crash, a floatable safety pod ejects safely into the water and keeps the driver safe until rescue workers reach the spot.
